  1. AYF Winterfest.  February 3rd to 5th at Armenian Youth Center, 50 Hallcrown Place.  The 2nd Annual AYF WInterfest is organized by the Armenian Youth in Toronto for Toronto and GTA residents. Celebrating the Canadian winter with lots of food, entertainment and fun activities. The event is for all ages and comes with a marketplace, ice rink, hockey tournament and great entertainment.   2. Winterlicious.   Runs through to February 9th at multiple locations, please contact event organizers for more details.  Toronto’s favourite winter foodie celebration returns. This year’s event offers two programs, the Winterlicious Culinary Events Series and the Prix Fixe Promotion.  Explore the Culinary Events series, featuring 11 unique dining and learning experiences. These gastronomic events showcase flavours from Asia to Italy, include ingredients from chocolate to seafood, and draw inspiration from art to fashion.  Plus, 175 of Toronto’s top restaurants serve up delicious three-course prix fixe menus at three appetizing price points. The Great Mountain.  February 6th to 20th at Young People’s Theatre, Susan Douglas Rubes Mainstage Theatre, 165 Front Street East, Front Street East and Sherbourne Street.  Young Nuna has started to hear things she can’t figure out. Realizing she has inherited the ability to hear the spirits of rushing rivers and soaring mountains, Nuna’s grandmother takes her to a river where a glacier is melting and the spirit of a great mountain weeps. Does Nuna have the power to answer the great mountain’s cry?   4. Kuumba.  February 3rd to 5th from 10 am to 10 pm at Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West, Lower Simcoe Street and Queens Quay West.  The 16th annual Kuumba festival presented by TD returns to Harbourfront Centre (Feb, 3-5, 2012) with an entertaining and educational weekend celebrating Black History Month. Join us for artist showcases, round table discussions, storytelling, fashion, music, dance and children’s programmes, Kuumba has something for everyone!  All Kuumba events celebrate the vitality of Toronto’s African and Caribbean communities, by showcasing works by innovative Canadian and international artists.   5. Downsview Park’s Winterfest.  February 4th from 11 am to 4 pm at Downsview Park, Sheppard Avenue West and Keele Street.  Join us for this FREE fun-filled family event to celebrate the winter season. Activities include: ice slide, ice sculpting demonstrations, ice brick play area, buskers and more.   6. Year of the Dragon – Chinese New Year Celebration.  February 4th from 2pm to 4pm at Lillian H Smith Library, 239 College Street, College and Spadina.  We will kick off this auspicious event with a Lion Dance & Martial Arts performance at 2 pm!
