  1. A Journey into Brahms.  February 28th from 8 pm to 10 pm at Koerner Hall, TELUS Performance Centre, 273 Bloor Street West, Bloor Street West and Avenue Road.  Ontario Philharmonic debuts the exciting Ye-Eun Choi, violinist, as it continues its exploration of the great Brahms symphonic opus with his 2nd Symphony • We are pleased to introduce you to the extraordinarily gifted young Korean violinist, Ms. Ye-Eun CHOI, as guest soloist for Brahms’ Violin Concerto • Ms. Choi is one of the most promising violin talents to emerge from Europe, Asia and USA, since her 2009 debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under Alan Gilbert’s baton. She has performed with many prominent world orchestras. Black History Month:  “Mighty Jerome” Film Event.  February 23rd from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at Swansea Town Hall, 95 Lavinia Avenue, Bloor Street and Runnymede Road.  You are invited to a screening of the award winning NFB film “Mighty Jerome: The Greatest Comeback in Track and Field History” with special guest, writer/director Charles Officer.   3. Bloor-Yorkville Ice Fest.  February 25th and 26th at Village of Yorkville Park, Cumberland Street and Bellair Street.  Celebrate winter with the Bloor-Yorkville IceFest! This year’s festival will feature ice sculpture displays, events and demonstrations throughout the neighbourhood.  From 12–5 pm on Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26, come marvel at our very own “Winter Wilderness”, including the display of an “Ice Log Cabin”, complete with a northern Lumberjack! Plus, children will love the free “Kiddie Cubes” with a toy inside!  The Festival will also include ice carving demonstrations throughout the neighbourhood and there will be on-street performers including skating performances by “Glisse on Ice”.  For more info visit  www.bloor-yorkville.com/icefest/icefest.html
  4. Les Adieux I.  February 23rd from 12 pm to 1 pm at Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, 145 Queen Street West.  Soprano Ileana Montalbetti and bass-baritone Neil Craighead, two graduating artists of the COC Ensemble Studio, perform a special farewell concert of their favourite arias and duets.  This concert is part of the Canadian Opera Company’s Free Concert Series in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre. The series provides a unique opportunity to experience diverse artistic programming in what has become one of Toronto’s most exciting cultural hubs. The Neverending Story.  February 27th to March 17th at Young People’s Theatre, Susan Douglas Rubes Mainstage Theatre, 165 Front Street East, Front Street East and Sherbourne Street.  Bastian is a bullied boy who escapes his troubles by burying himself in books. His latest – impulsively stolen from an old bookshop – draws him into the most thrilling adventure of his life. Fantastica, the land of stories, is facing oblivion from an enemy known only as The Nothing.
